USPS Delays

I wanted to discuss the issues with shipping delays since covid-19 started and why this is still happening.
Within our region delays are staggering.

We see packages that say delivered and are then delivered later in the day, or the next day. USPS has been bogged down due to the current covid-19 situation and online ordering and now seem to have less employees working as well.

We have seen the same issues with other carriers, so this isn’t just an USPS issue. PLEASE Order ahead of time and give yourself extra time due to shipping delays. We have seen packages that normally take 3 or 4 days taking 3 weeks for some reason. We aren’t told anything by our carriers and have not been given an explanation as to when this issues will be resolved.

We are talking with the postmaster and working on the best resolution to this ongoing issue. We thank you for your continued support and please be patient while we endure these difficult times.

Christopher’s Organic Phenotalk – White Maeng Da

White Maeng Da is the #1 Customer Favorite White Phenotype Here at Christopher’s Organic Botanicals. Now the Maeng Da name is really just a name and not a special phenotype at all.

It usually is the best quality leaf of the batch nowadays and/or older leaves than the rest of the harvest. The Phenotypes themselves we focus on are regional, which makeup over 75% of our stock. White Maeng Da has always been a popular type regardless of its origin.

We have thought about just taking the name Maeng Da away altogether, but it has been around for such a long time that it would most likely lead to confusion. Maeng da is a Thai term that has come to refer to a level of quality. In actuality, maeng da is a slang term in Thailand that means ‘pimp’. It’s used when talking about kratom to denote ‘pimp grade’, or top-grade quality.

We want to be transparent and talk about different regions where kratom is grown and why we select certain regions over others. As with any plant the soil and region it is grown in will affect the make-up of the plant to some degree. We are studying these Regions & Alkaloids to better understand this wonderful plant. As we learn about this plant even further we would love to open up this conversation further with everyone.

Christopher’s Organic Phenotalk – Learn More About the Differences with Kratom Phenotypes

We will be discussing Phenotypes and the regions and (sometimes no reason at all) names of Kratom.

We want to open this up for discussion and better understand the workings and science behind Kratom. We will be going over all of the phenotypes we offer and after this series is over we would love to hear your opinions about how our findings and the way we see Kratom is the same, or differs from your personal experience.

White Maeng Da will be the first installment we will discuss. There will not be just one author, but a few different explanations and opinions from people who use kratom and work for Christopher’s Organic Botanicals. We want to open this up for discussion and better understand the workings and science behind Kratom.

We will be going over all of the phenotypes we offer and after this series is over we would love to hear your opinions about how our findings and the way we see Kratom is the same, or differs from your personal experience.

This is a plant that we are all still discovering it’s wonderful attributes. We have discovered 4 Alkaloids we can test for now. When there becomes more alkaloid testing available you can rest assured we will be testing for those alkaloids too.

Kratom is a Plant that we are very passionate about and we want to share as much knowledge with you about this amazing tree.

Please stay tuned as we talk about these different regions that kratom is grown and the different profiles that they uniquely possess.

Christopher’s Organic Kratom News – Issue 1

There has been a lot of talk about kratom in the past few weeks that is exciting and concerning. We’re going to try something new here to help keep the Kratom community informed about what’s going on with Kratom news from around the world. Read on if you’d like to join us in learning more everyday.

Board of supervisors rescind 13-month countywide ban on kratom

Great news about a Kratom ban in Mississippi finally being lifted and hopefully more counties will follow suit.

We need to have our voices heard and one of the best ways to do this is by talking to the local governments and explaining that Kratom is not some evil plant. That is where advocacy starts locally and moves outward. If we all start talking about our experience we will make a difference.

CDC Flooded With Comments On Marijuana And Kratom As Alternative Painkillers Ahead Of Deadline

The CDC received many comments from people all over the country stating that Kratom and Cannabis had improved their lives.

This story shows that people are looking into other ways to help improve their lives and not just feel like they have no other choice but to live a life of misery.

Drugs seized at Shannon Airport destined for Mayo address

Here’s one news article that I came across that made me shake my head was the article out of Ireland about a Kratom seizure at Shannon Airport.

To say that the 4kg of Kratom is worth almost €81,000 is ridiculous. It was also said that four packages containing over 2.2kg of herbal cannabis had an estimated value of €45,200?

Seriously? These seem like catchy headlines to grab readers, but there could be more behind it. Scare tactics and/or a way to demonize natural plants.

State legislators seek kratom meeting with FDA commissioner

The FDA has had since 2018 to meet with the American Kratom Association to discuss Kratom. That has been the main goal but unfortunately that has yet to happen. The American Kratom Association has been waiting since 2018 and the FDA has not accepted a meeting.

CBD is everywhere and we can see that Kratom is getting the same traction. Hopefully the FDA will see that this Meeting is necessary. The Day will come when the truth finally comes out and everyone can see the wonder of this plant.

We are making headway across the board in our nation with the conversation about natural healing being spoken daily.

There still is a lot to do and we will be on the frontlines of all issues concerning Kratom and Cannabis in NJ. I truly thank everyone for supporting natural options and believing in the Power of Nature!

We hope you enjoy this first Christopher’s Organic Kratom News blog post. We look forward to sharing them with you weekly.

Time’s are Changing

Kratom Leaves

Memorial Day has Passed and some things are starting to get back to normal across the country, but a different normal. Many things have changed in our lives and have impacted us in a way that we can’t help but act and think differently. We may look at things in a different light, or appreciate the little things instead. We may be angry and not understand why this is all happening and feel overwhelmed. We may feel all of it and still just go on with our day doing what we can to survive this and look towards a better future.

We have gone though many changes over here as well. My wife Holly is now working with us full time after a lot of conversations about what is the best for us and the company. Life has a funny way of letting you know what is best and when it is time to let go of what we think is necessary for happiness. Life is truly too short for the nonsense. We want to make sure that everyone gets quality Kratom that is packaged and tested properly.

This was our goal from the very beginning to have quality-tested Kratom. I have talked about costs associated with production/Testing processes and the costs are high. We want people to know that we do send out samples with larger orders and samples meaning a 2 oz or 4 oz.

Orders over $50.00 get a 2 oz sample and Orders over $150.00 get a 4 oz sample. There May be times that we are just completely out of stock on smaller sizes, but that rarely happens.

We do use a Co-Packer and do have times where certain items will be on the Flash sale list to make room for the next batch. We may give some of those flash sale items out as samples. We have been sending out tote bags, letter openers, stickers and other SWAG just to make sure that people know that We truly appreciate you.

We also Donate $5,000.00 Monthly to the A.K.A., Which is a nice part of our revenue. We believe that any person(Vendor) with an interest in Kratom should be donating (if they can afford it) to support the future legality of Kratom.

We have endured numerous extra expenses since covid-19! We are continuing to use extra protection and Disinfecting all surfaces and touchpoints. We use a Office/Warehouse Environment with only 3 people and 3 rooms, so social distancing has been easy.

Bright Skies Ahead
We want you to be happy, Safe and try the different variety that we have to offer. I personally like Red Maeng da Later in the day, but in the morning it is Green Malay or Riau, or White Mahakam. I usually don’t use whites, but Mahakam has always been the 1 white Phenotype that I like. I use Red Vietnam before bed. Usually 3 times a day. That works for me and my body. My wife is only once a day after dinner and that works for her. Natural products can never be specific on Serving Size because everyone is different and reacts differently.

Please be careful and remember what is truly important in our lives. Summer is coming and I am not even sure what that means for everyone, but We will be here doing what we can for Kratom and the Kratom Community and spreading the Word about this Wonderful Plant. God Bless Everyone of You and Let’s Keep the Important things in life First.

Why Shop GMP Kratom?

We have gone through a lot of changes the past few years and the best one was becoming GMP Qualified by the American Kratom Association last year. We are coming up on our re- Certification again soon, which is the same as the first audit to ensure everything is STILL GMP! There are alot of vendor’s and a lot of prices out there that vary ALL over the place. I have seen over $300.00 a kilo ,or $200.00 a pound.

We try to keep our prices mid range and accessible for everyone, which includes our overhead for Daily operations.

But that doesn’t mean we are the cheapest out there. I constantly see people selling kratom for $30 for 250g and event $70-$80 a kilo. But let me tell you why you should spend a bit more and invest in kratom from one of the GMP vendors….🤔 I know…..MONEY is Always an Issue for everyone.

A) Legally. The Kratom Consumer Protection Act is coming to 21 more states in 2020. It’s been passed in 4 now and at least 2/3 of those 21 are expected to pass this session and the rest by next session (each state has different legislative session lengths and times) When the KCPA passes, it will become ILLEGAL to purchase and sell kratom in those states are ship into those states kratom that is not from a GMP vendor!

In a way, it may be a bad thing for people’s prices, but hear me out here. When you buy a cheap kilo like that, you are essentially (in nearly every case I’ve ever heard of) getting a kilo that was either packaged in Indonesia and just repacked or literally forwarded to you in its original package by these vendors. You have NO IDEA what may be in that package, nor do they! To properly test a batch of kratom, one needs to first mix every gram of the same strains together to create a consistent product. Then, the tests which cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars per strain must be performed by certified and accredited labs who can’t be bought off to provide false results. Then the kratom needs to be packaged in a clean facility where the chance of contamination (unintentional adulteration) is nearly impossible to occur. And this does NOT include people’s homes and garages. A clean room must be separate from living spaces. This is a basic GMP requirement. The risks you take by consuming an untested product is profound. Don’t forget that Salmonella , e coli, heavy metals, and much more has been found in Kratom (and many other natural products).

Please be sure of what is in your product before consuming it!

B). GMP vendor’s are are required to keep meticulous records. Any complaints are filed away and monitored so that should there ever be a pattern emerging, we can go back and look at that exact batch… open a bag of product saved from that batch, and retest if needed. That insures accountability and proper handling of the product at all times. Our reputation is at stake here!

C). You support the future of Kratom legality in this country! If we want kratom to remain legal for our lives, the only path forward is through regulation. We MUST stand strong together and speak with a loud voice as we did in 2016 that we will not put our money into cheap product that could be dirty or unsafe and is literally considered “adulterated” because it isn’t tested or produced in a safe clean room. We must band together and show the powers that be that our industry is different than so many before us. We will do whats right by helping to promote the good faith that is generating in Kratom and not allow the potential for more news stories about people being hurt by kratom (that is in fact just adulterated or contaminated).

You may think to yourself “well of course he’s going to promote this because he makes money doing it”. Well and yes, of course we make money when we sell kratom. I started COB not as a way to make a bunch of money… I started it because kratom changed my life and I wanted to make it safe, affordable, and help others change their lives. We have continually had one of the strongest loyalty followings of any kratom vendor and our consistency is remarkable! We will always support the legality of Kratom and do everything in our power to keep it legal into the foreseeable future.

So our 9oz bag is $51.00 and our mixed kilos are $160.00… but you get a bag with a label that tells you a batch code that you can use to review the actual lab results for your purchase on our website. So while we aren’t at cheap as the value vendors, you can be assured that you will know exactly what you are consuming! Mitragynine %, 7-hydroxymitragynine %, heavy metals, mold, yeast, coliforms, bacterial tests, everything.

We will continue to work towards the goal of Keeping Kratom Available to everyone and are donating $5,000.00 Monthly to the A.K.A. to help the fight!

God Bless you and thank you for the continued support.

Alkaloids Testing

We are in an emerging, self-regulated industry where we are still working out all of the details. This includes fine-tuned testing for alkaloids and packaging rules. With the help of the Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA), we will be able to finally have some standards in place for the industry.

We thank the entire Kratom community for supporting Kratom and the reasons why we are so passionate about this plant. We all have our differences and Kratom is what makes us come together for a common cause – like in the movie, A Leaf of Faith (watch on Netflix). I was lucky to be a part of history that day and I thank the community for showing our togetherness and what we can do when a common goal is the end result!

Mature Kratom Tree

Mature Kratom Tree

Trying to explain how Kratom and its alkaloids work can be a bit confusing. This is a natural plant that grows wild. One mature tree can contain up to 20 kgs – which is a lot of leaves with a lot of different profiles! This means that the blending of a whole tree of leaves would give a blended alkaloid profile to begin with and we would have to study each leaf individually. We would then have to test many leaves on the same tree to see the variables.

The test for alkaloids gives a snapshot of that batch and does not indicate the exact percentage on the label. This is also true in the cannabis industry, where in New Jersey I can go to a dispensary and see the same test results on a package of top flower as on a package of ready to roll (“shake”). How can that be?

Testing for any plant composition is expensive and is just not going to happen with each individual package without the cost skyrocketing through the roof. That is because testing each package would require enormous price increases. Each test for Kratom costs roughly $500 for a full battery on each batch. That’s why there’s core samples, random sample’s and blended samples taken all the time; however, for each package to contain exactly what is on the package is probably not going to happen.

Young Kratom Trees

Young Kratom Trees

The test is still in its infancy right now for alkaloids and it will get more accurate as time goes on, but just remember that with any natural plant alkaloids will vary. That being said, I am excited that we are now testing for four alkaloids and figuring out how this plant works!

I use this plant daily and depend on it to be able to get out of bed in the morning. I am also a registered medical marijuana patient and that helps my chronic pain, too! Some people ask me: Why both plants? In my opinion they work in different ways in my body. I use cannabis more at nighttime for sleep, and CBD and Kratom during the day. This is the best way that I have found to ensure I don’t have to go back to pain management.

I will continue posting updates on how different things are going and more anecdotal evidence on how Kratom works for me and how I use different phenotypes to aid in different areas of my life.

Thank you and God bless the Kratom & cannabis community!

My Story

My name is Christopher and I discovered Kratom in 2015. Below, I wanted to share a little bit about my backstory, along with the founding principles of our company. I hope this will provide some insight into my passion for helping others through natural products, like Kratom, and that you won’t hesitate to reach out with questions – or to share your story as well!

I was looking for other avenues in my struggle to maintain a functioning, less painful lifestyle. Kratom has been one of those plants that I wish I would have known about years ago. I was hit by a car at 8 years old while crossing the street, and that began the problematic life that I know today. Between 8 and 13 I went through about 40 dislocations of my knees, requiring my first surgery at 13 and second at 22.

Being prescribed opiates at a young age of 8 was an issue for me (and my addictive personality). I had a severe alcohol problem by the time I was in my early twenties. Alcohol and opiates were great for pain relief, in my opinion, since options for pain management were limited for me at that time. If cannabis was never banned in 1937, we would probably see a lot less harm today than we have seen by opiates/alcohol in our nation. (At least for me personally this is the case.) At 36, I had a heart attack and had two stents placed.

Now, I am not saying that there isn’t a place for pharmaceutical pain management. I personally know that natural plants can help us live a better quality of life. They are not a replacement for severe pain management treatments. I know firsthand that strong pain management is needed and necessary for some people. I would never say that Kratom or cannabis can completely replace pharmaceutical pain management.

However, my life has improved dramatically since alcohol and pain killers are no longer part of it. I do not plan on ever taking anything unnatural, besides an occasional Aleve, unless it is necessary for surgery. I can finally maintain my ability to get out of bed and function daily, because of Kratom and cannabis. I will always do what I can to make sure that people know about these natural options.

Christophers Organic Botanicals

Christophers Organic Botanicals

This company was built in 2015 on the foundation that quality tested products should be available to everyone. Now, we have heard a lot from customers and vendors over the past few years about quality, pricing, and testing issues within the industry. All I can say about pricing is that the price should reflect the necessary requirements to process and package these products. This includes testing, packaging and general overhead. We will always do what we can to cut costs, but we will never cut corners.

Now, Kratom testing is nothing new, but the technology is expanding. We are now testing for four alkaloids and they are now listed on our testing results page here. The two new alkaloids we are testing for are paynantheine and speciogynine. These two alkaloids seem to have a lot of potential. We will continue to keep everyone informed as we learn more and test for different alkaloids as the technology becomes available. We will continue to be on the front lines of the industry, making available anything new we learn along the way. We have formulated our own brand of CBD oil with natural occurring terpenes which I personally love.

Within the cannabis plant, there are a lot of other variables besides THC and CBD. We often tend to focus on those two compounds. Terpenes are a huge reason why cannabis works the way it does – it’s not just the plants with the highest THC content. The same goes for any natural plant and Kratom is no exception to this rule.

We are excited to share these findings with you and we will always find new ways of expanding knowledge of this wonderful plant. We want you to learn along with us as we learn too! As this industry expands we are expanding along with it! We promise to keep working towards the best options for our customers when it comes to standards and quality. We use this plant too, so we want to learn all we can as well!

We are also donating $5,000.00 monthly to the A.K.A. to support ongoing efforts to keep Kratom legal! With your support we are fighting to keep Kratom legal together!

I will always say that Kratom is a tool and not the be all and end all of ALL issues or problems. It can help us get to that point in our lives where we are able to move on to the next step.

God Bless the Kratom Community and the stand that we have taken to make sure this plant is accessible to everyone.

Have a safe and prosperous New Year and we will see many great changes for Kratom in 2020. Thank You once again for all of your continued support.

God Bless You!
